Local facilities

There are more than 5000 grassroots clubs in WA. They play their sport on ovals, pitches, courts and fields. Many of these clubs need club rooms, showers and lights.

Role of State Government

Every year the State Government pumps millions into grassroots sporting facilities through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).

These grants range from $2500 to $3 million. The money goes towards a huge variety of projects—big and small—ranging from a new set of lights for your tennis club, a new bowling green or even an entirely new club room.

Community sporting projects

We also help out with some major community sporting projects like the Cockburn Regional Physical Activity and Education Centre, which features indoor and outdoor pools, a water playground, community meeting spaces and a training base for the Fremantle Football Club.

Pool upgrades

Another special project on the go at the moment is a $13.2 million initiative to upgrade community pools across regional WA. To date, some 94 pools and water playgrounds have been refurbished.
